Révélé en France aux côtés des Frères Belmondo (« Influence » avec Yusef Lateef) et de Baptiste Trotignon, le batteur Dré Pallemaerts est l’un des musiciens les plus respectés de la scène du jazz en Belgique, où sa route a croisé des musiciens comme Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, le groupe Octurn ou Bert Joris... En 2007, il franchissait une étape décisive en enregistrant son tout premier album en leader, « Pan Harmonie », pour lequel il s’était entouré de musiciens de haut vol : les Américains Bill Carrothers (au piano) et Mark Turner (sax ténor), le Français Stéphane Belmondo (trompette) et son compatriote Jozef Dumoulin (Fender Rhodes). Aventureux et exploratoire, « Pan Harmonie », avec son instrumentation originale à deux claviers et sans basse, révélait entre des reprises de Thelonious Monk et de Joni Mitchell les talents de compositeur et de coloriste d’un musicien aussi discret qu’original. Son album n’a fait que se bonifier depuis.

Revealed in France alongside the Belmondo Brothers (“Influence” with Yusef Lateef) and pianist Baptiste Trotignon, drummer Dré Pallemaerts is one of the most respected musicians on the Belgian jazz scene, where his path has crossed musicians like Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, the group Octurn or Bert Joris ... In 2007, he took a decisive step by recording his very first album as a leader, "Pan Harmonie", for which he surrounded himself with top-notch musicians: Americans Bill Carrothers (on piano) and Mark Turner (on tenor sax), French Stéphane Belmondo (on trumpet) and his compatriot Jozef Dumoulin (on Fender Rhodes). Between covers of Thelonious Monk and Joni Mitchell, "Pan Harmonie", with its original instrumentation of two keyboards and without bass, revealed the talents of composer and colorist of a musician as discreet as he was original. Adventurous and exploratory, his album has only gotten better since then.
